Auditory Abuse

Last Sunday, the A1 Grand Prix was held in the Sepang International Circuit. My friend Jia Leong had free tickets for the event, so I thought it’d be a great chance to finally have my first look at our very own world-class (so called) racing circuit. The first thing I found out about SIC was - it’s far. So very far. It took about 40 minutes of not-so-slow drive from my place. Considering there were 4 of us sitting in the back of the car, the 40 minutes turned out to be painfully long :P

The first things we saw when we reached were lots of Lotus Elise’s. There must have been at least a dozen of them. Too bad there weren’t any Exige’s, I think. (Update: Now I think there were. I think this orange one is an Exige itself)

PB260003_1.jpg
Orange Elise! Exige!

However, there weren’t much of other things to see besides the Elise’s. Well… can’t expect much from a racing circuit can we?

This is the K1 stand that we were supposed to go to.

PB260006.jpg
K1 Stands. Still sunny

Instead, my friend Jia Leong contacted his friend who had tickets to the Mall Grandstands. (Notice where K1 is. It would have been boring if we were stuck there.)

sepang-circuit2.jpg
The Mall Area has the best views of the track

We walked around the Mall Area for some time, scouting for locations with the best view. We decided that the Topaz/Citrine stands had the best coverage we could practically see half of the track from there. However, the Ruby/Garnet stands were also interesting because of the trademark hairpin at Turn 15. So we alternated back and forth whenever we wanted a change of view.

But before that, we had a bad feeling.

PB260013.jpg
Not so sunny anymore

We quickly settled down at the spots we chose. There were already ‘races’ going on before the real A1 race started.

PB260019.JPG
So fast-lah! *sarcasm*

PB260028.JPG
Still not that fast but at least they look cooler than fat Savvy’s and Neo’s

The sky turned darker every minute.

PB260041.jpg
Light vs Dark. Dark is winning. The Force is missing.

The opening ceremony started off with some dance by people dressed in every imaginable cultural dress.

PB260058.jpg
Sakai’s. Literally.

Then the drivers made their grand entrance. My friend suddenly said “why so yellow until look like banana-lah”.

PB260062.JPG
Alex Yoong led the pack.

Right before the race started, it rained heavily. Si beh kek tiok. On the bright side, it wasn’t so hot anymore :P

PB260074.JPG
A couple of cars actually skidded in the rain during the warm-up session.

Wei How started to munch on his TEN RINGGIT hotdog. Siao. They wouldn’t even let us bring in our water (which I managed to do so :D) and yet they’re trying to bleed our wallet to death.

PB260076.JPG
TEN BUCKS.

The race finally started after a while. Immediately, it’s quite apparent who will win the race. Nico Hülkenberg of Germany led throughout the race and opened a very wide gap from the very beginning. His position was never being challenged, even when it was time for his pitstop.

PB260130.JPG
Nico Hülkenberg of Germany

Our Alex Yoong however, wasn’t doing too well. He started off at 4th position and from then onwards, he was so easily passed by racers from the back as though he was dreaming. He dropped pretty far behind, until he went for his pitstop. He came back with a fresh set of tires and with that, he was finally able to catch up with some of the racers but it was a little too late. He ended the race in 7th position.

PB260134.JPG PB260142.JPG
The flying banana.

I didn’t mention that sound from the cars were loud… but they weren’t. They were [INSERT EXPLETIVES]-THUNDEROUSLY-DEAFENINGLY-EARSPLITTINGLY LOUD. In a while, things got a little unbearable. I couldn’t take pictures properly because it was just too loud. Wei How then gave me something that saved the day.

PB260149.JPG
They saved my ear drums.

Even with so much tissue stuffed into my ears, the sound was still extremely loud. Albeit it was more bearable after that. At least my hands are free from covering my ears so I could continue taking pictures. Anyhow, once the race was completed, the podium winners were then given their trophy and the usual champagne bath. The media helicopter was flying dangerously low during that time to get a good coverage.

PB260151.jpg
Very nabeh pilot

People started to leave. And there were lots of them. Fortunately the crowd barely filled the grandstands, so there were relatively few people actually. It could have been a lot more. I took the liberty of taking a few more pictures before leaving too. Then it was another long drive home.

And more sore butts.

Sorry for the late update. Have been pretty busy with my assignment since a few days back. For now I’m not in a such a good state to write much… or rather I am not able to… the 2 hours of sleep I got last night (morning actually) isn’t really much.

I took a short nap at 7.30am and woke up at 9.30am this morning. Got to school at noon to hand up my assignment. Hurried off to badminton. Got back from tea at 5+. Swept my floor, did my laundry, took my bath. And here I am, finally sitting still with the intention of actually resting.

Anyhow, the other day I accidentally discovered a way to take even more ridiculous pictures. So let’s see…

They’re all straight from my camera. No editing done. I think they look horrid. Haha. But colourful. Tell me what you think about them. Or better yet, tell me what you think they are! :P

Today is an ordinary day. So ordinary I have nothing to talk about. I was thinking about what I should write… and then I opened my fridge and I realised I had two more apples to finish.

PB190162.jpg
Yes. That’s my apple.

So I took one of them as dessert after dinner. While I was at it, I realised I had a box of Omochi too. Omochis are cute little yummy gooey stuff.

PB190163.jpg
If you haven’t eaten it before, must try!

Then I remembered about the little so-called little dragon pau’s I got earlier.

PB190164.jpg
50 cents sebijik. They look bigger than they are.

I also got myself a…… [insert penjodoh bilangan] ….cabbage when I was out doing some shopping. RM1.49 for something this big. Wah… worth it man!

PB190165.jpg
This will keep me happy for a couple of days.

Then hor.. since so green already I cannot leave out Mr. Sunlight.

PB190166.jpg
Best dishwasher liquid around. Okay I know it’s lame but it’s really true.

After seeing so many green stuff, I felt I was missing out something important. Something synonymous with green. Something so common in our daily lives, yet something significant. Guess what?

PB190167.jpg
Minum Milo anda jadi sihat dan kuat!

I was still looking for green things to take, and I found this. It’s not very often that we see this in green though, just so happens that mine is (usually it’s the orange coloured variant :P).

PB190168.jpg
This has.. er… well.. kept my clothes clean?

What’s the one more unmistakably green thing? This, of course.

This guy ate too much pandan flavoured cake.

I’m still thinking what to write.

P/S: This must be the lamest post ever.

Rachel’s “Kee” to being 21

Rachel celebrated her 21st birthday two days ago. Took me a while to find time to sit here and write about it because I was so awfully busy yesterday cleaning and rearranging everything I have and come in contact with. And man, now I realise I sure do have a lot of stuff. Useless stuff that is. I packed and cleaned my computer table, the hall, the bathroom and most importantly my dump site room.

I started off almost immediately after I got up from bed at about noon. I was expecting it wouldn’t take long so I thought I’ll have my lunch after I’m done. What a bad decision. I didn’t even had time to lunch. I was barely half done when my friend called me for dinner. That was at SIX in the evening. I had a quick dinner, got back and resumed work. It was at MIDNIGHT when I finally got a chance to take my own bath! I spent an entire day cleaning! My room took the longest, I practically tore it apart and cleaned it bit by bit plus I rearranged the cupboards and cabinets too. I like my room a lot more now! However, there won’t be any pictures of it… :P

With all that done, let’s move on to the main event!

At about six in the evening of Saturday, Edward came to pick me up from my place and we headed off to Marvin’s house along with Wei How, Xi Wen, James, Aivie, Ivan and May Lee. The celebration was held at Clement’s (Rachel’s you-know-who) place, and we weren’t too sure of how to get there so we were relying on Marvin on being our guide. But one thing we all was sure about is that it’s gonna be one long ride. His house is in a nice quiet place somewhere in Kajang. And his house is huge. What was supposed to be a long ride, turned out to be a very long ride.

Marvin, our guide, almost took us to Johor.

PB110031.jpg
Marvin. Our guide =.=

After we were robbed of our tolls fees which we wouldn’t have needed to pay and sight-seeing trip across a totally unfamiliar highway which would fit into a Silent Hill scene very well, we ended up on the same road where we came from. And this time we finally took the correct turn. Marvin! Guide konon!

The first thing most of us did when we reached Clement’s house was beating up Marvin :D But a while into that, I was faaaar more attracted to the food there.

PB110046.JPG
Clement’s mum should open a restaurant

I still can’t forget the peanuty-curry-chicken. Whatever it is made of, it should be banned. It will induce a state of ecstasy in the victim and he/she will fail to have self-control over their table manners and cause embarassment to themselves. I need to get the recipe from Clem’s mum.Rachel was particularly gorgeous that night, and her family actually came down all the way from Malacca to attend the party!

PB110056.jpg
NBTD. Super macro shot on a beer can. Nice leh!

And the usual me, night events will never be complete unless you have some…. night shots!

PB110062.JPG
You can actually play football in the garden! (And this is barely a third of it)

PB110064.JPG
And there is a fish pond as well!

PB110065.JPG
See! So nice! (I mean the picture nice hor :P)

Marvin all drunk. Right. How I wish he was. Then I can nick some money off his wallet :D

PB110073.jpg
Poser!

PB110079.jpg
Xi Wen, the soon-to-be pro photographer with the love of his life

There was a big waterfight which suddenly erupted while I was playing chor dai dee. Some of the guys have been filling up water balloons when we were entertaining ourselves. Water balloons rained down from the sky like artillery shells. They were. Sort of. Immediately, the victims on my side staged a fightback. We quickly filled up our own share of balloons, but it did not proved to be effective because they had the upper hand in terms of manpower, ammunition and terrain. Unfortunately, very few pictures were taken during the waterfight because I was in it :P And the rest who weren’t didn’t want to risk taking their cameras out.

Howard’s last words - “Oh shit”

PB110101.jpg
My words - “Too late”

PB110099.jpg
Wei How’s arming himself with ice-cold water

When the clock struck 12, we all had a ceasefire to make way for the grand ceremony.

PB120120.jpg
I had to fight for a spot to take this picture

PB120124.jpg
That’s for being the host.

PB120127.JPG
Of course, we couldn’t forget about the big star

PB120134.jpg
Yoke Ching being naughty

Our big star actually had a change of clothes after that. And the watery Hell broke loose again.

PB120142.jpg

PB120146.jpg

PB120157.JPG
The unthinkable has happened. Marvin the so-called Untouchable was robbed of his manhood. By a pole.

It was a wild, wild night. I got myself wet, and Phil got me wetter =.=” I wouldn’t worry too much about that though. Because his birthday is coming.

Bwahahahahahahaha *evil laugh*

I don’t know how it happened, but it happened.
My new racket string broke. It’s NEW. As in, not even a MONTH old.
But it broke. For no apparent reason.
Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Potong stim. And potong wallet again.

I have a party to attend to later, I’ll see if I can get any nice pictures. It’s my classmate Rachel’s 21st birthday celebration.

Until then.
